Glendo Lakeside RV Park - Glendo, Wyoming

PFR *****
Campground ****

This is a nice campground.  The entire RV section is nice red gravel.  The sites are separated by yellow concrete dividers.  The sites are all very long and wide with a small tree in each.  We could only put our awning out about 1/2 way because of the tree, but we have afternoon shade on that side anyway.  We had plenty of room to use all 7 of the xpens.

When we checked in, the girl asked if we had pets, and how many.  Mike told her 9.  She just said, "Oh my, you travel with a lot of dogs!", but was fine with it.  I told her that we needed a site with a good size yard on the awning side for our puppy yard.  She just said they are all the same size, but we should have plenty of room because they are wide sites.

Horse Thief Campground and Resort - Hill City, South Dakota

PFR *****
Campground ****

This is a nice campground, but it is very popular with tent and cabin campers with kids.  The owners were VERY nice, and loved our dogs.  They even loaned us their own park pass so we wouldn't have to pay $20 to get into the Custer State Park.

Our site was grass, with a gravel parking pad.  It was large enough to use all 7 of our xpens.

Devils Tower/Black Hills KOA - Devils Tower, Wyoming

PFR *****
Campground ****

This is a really nice KOA.  We had a great site with a lot of room for xpens, and fantastic view of the Devils Tower.  The parking pad was long with packed dirt and gravel.  The yard area was pretty good grass.  There was a small restaurant inside the office/gift shop.

7th Ranch RV Camp - Garryowen, Montana

PFR *****
Campground ****

This is a great campground.  It is actually a working ranch. The road leading to the entrance is very rough, washboard, but doable.

The parking pads are gravel.  Unfortunately, part of our site had wet ground under the gravel and it caused some difficulty in leveling, but did get it level.  One of our jacks sunk down about 4", even though it looked dry and solid on the surface.

Our site is on the end of a row and we have a really nice grassy yard and a small tree.  We used 6 xpens.

When Mike made the online reservations, he selected that we had 5 pets because that was the highest number available.  He emailed and asked if they had a limit.  He got a reply saying they did not have a limit.  When we checked in, she asked if we were headed to a dog show, or why we traveled with so many.  Mike told her that we used to show, but now they are just our pets.  I did tell her that we actually had 9 with us, and she didn't even flinch.  Also, her husband (or worker) drove by when we had all 9 outside, and just waved.

They gave us a free ice cream bar when we checked in! :)

Miles City KOA - Miles City, Montana

PFR *****
Campground ****

This was a nice campground, but of course because it was a KOA it was expensive.  The first site they took us to was too tight to get into, and too short for our rig and toad.  They switched us to one of their deluxe patio sites, which turned out to be really great.  They did not charge us the additional cost for the deluxe site.  It had a concrete block and gravel patio with grass around it.  We were able to use 5 xpens and made a nice yard.  It was a FHU site.

The owner came to water the potted plants while we were packing up to leave, and time for the doggies final potty.  She was surprised to see them, but delighted.

$45/night (The actual cost of this site was $65, but they did not charge us the deluxe price because our original site did not work for us.)

Medora Campground - Medora, North Dakota

PFR ****
Campground ***

This is a fine campground to stay at during sightseeing in Medora. It is right next to the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, right across the street from the venue for the Medora Musical, and right down the street from Medora.  Medora is mostly gift shops and restaurants.

The sites are prettyy narrow, and not very level.  The good point to this campground is that it does have FHU sites, but it is pretty expensive.

There is no pet limit.  We were able to use 5 xpens.  The yard area is a combination of rock, dirt, & grass.

Bismarck KOA Journey - Bismarck, North Dakota

PFR *****
Campground ****

This is a nice campground, but like all KOA's, pretty expensive.  But, we had a nice wide FHU pull-thru site.  They didn't ask  about pets, and park employees later saw the dogs and just waved.  Our site was large enough for 5 xpens.  There wasn't room to park the car at our site, so we had to park at the office, but it was very close by.

Site #22

General Sibley Park - Bismarck, North Dakota

PFR *****
Campground ***

This is a nice City owned park.  There is electric only at the campsites, with potable water spigots to fill the fresh water tank, and a dump station.

The sites are nice sized.  We had enough room to put out all 7 xpens, with room to spare.  The grass was sparse in areas, but fine.

The bathhouses are fine, but the one closest to our site had just barely warm water in the shower.  The other bathhouse, the faucets are not working right, and could never get a comfortable temperature balance.  That bathhouse also did not have a private dressing area at each shower.

Site #102
$22/night
Length of stay - 9 nights
