The last two times we stayed at this campground we LOVED it because of the really huge grassy sites, and how pet friendly they are. They are still super pet friendly, but this time they put us in one of their new sites. This site is a long pull-thru, but not NEARLY as wide as the other sites. Also the grass is very sparse and full of very loose sand. The parking pad is ground up asphalt and pretty soft. Our jacks made indentions in it.

I keep this blog to keep track of campgrounds we have stayed in, for our own future reference. Prior to 7/15/22, at the top of each entry is PFR. That was my Pet Friendliness Rating, of one to five *. Five being best. Now I only rate the campsite. We used to travel with 10 small dogs, but sadly, we have lost many of our elderly dogs, and are now down to just 1. So, the multiple dog friendliness is no longer important to us. Prior to 11/1/19, we traveled with 6 - 12 dogs.

The first time we stayed in this same site was 11/2/15, (original posting below).
The clearing area in this site is much larger than the last time we were in it. We used all 7 xpens, and had plenty of room. It is still quite secluded from the sites on either side, and easy access to the water.
A mamma deer and her baby came to visit us before we even got set up. They were very tame. A squirrel also came down the palm tree and acted like he had been hand fed.
We have a better wifi receiver and an OTA antenna booster now, so we had better reception on both. But, there are too many trees around to get any kind of satellite reception.
Site #114
$28/night
Length of stay - 14 nights
OTA - 21 channels including MeTV
Satellite - None
Water pressure - 60 lbs

This is a very beautiful park! Each site is surrounded by natural foliage and trees, with a lot of space between each site. The site we got backed up to the water. Our site had a gravel pad that was about 6' wider than the rig, and sandy ground past that. The site was wide enough to use 4 xpens. We had intended to only stay 2 nights, but decided to stay an additional night. We did not have an option to stay past that, since that site was already reserved. I had made this reservation several months ago, and this was the only site available, that would accommodate our rig, for the time period we needed.
I called the park a couple of weeks before we arrived and asked about their pet limit policies. She said they did not have a limit, and asked how many we had. I told her that we had 6 well behaved, very small, dogs. She said that would be fine. But, when we checked in, no one even asked if we had pets.
The man across the road from us, turned out to be a Sat diver, and had many mutual friends with Rick.

Antenna, only 4 or 5 channels

There are no pet limits listed on the web site or in the rules they gave us at check-in. But, Mike said the guy asked if we had pets, and when he said we had dogs, the guy said, "Two?". So he said, "Yes.". Our site was pretty secluded, so no one ever even saw them.
Our site was tiny gravel bits surrounded by vegetation on 3 sides. If it had been warmer weather, we could have put out all 7 xpens, but we only put out 5 because it was too cold to stay outside very long. There are walking trails and beach access. The park is peaceful and well kept. Half of the sites are FHU.
After we got set up, we discovered that Rick and his family were here, just a few sites down from us.

This is a pretty nice National park. Our site was pretty level and nice sized. We had a pretty good size dog yard, but we were right next to the road, so no privacy for the pups. But, there was good grass.
The people parked next to us had 2 Japanese Chins!

Campground *
This is a small city owned campground. Mike called to see if we needed a reservation the day we arrived. They said they had plenty of sites. When we arrived, he said to just pick a site and park in it, but recommended site 53 if we didn't want to unhook, since it was a pull-thru. We drove around and none of the other sites were anywhere long enough for us. Site 53 was a wide blacktop strip with no area for the dogs. The electrical box for that site only had 30amp, so Mike plugged into the box for the empty site next door, that had 50amp.

Escapees Rainbow's End - Livingston, Texas
PFR *****
Campground ****
There are 2 sections, Rainbow Oaks and Rainbow's End. We stayed on the Oak side. The campsites are level gravel with grass between. The sites are pretty large, with a lot of space between the sites & behind. We had plenty of room to use all 7 of our pens. Our site had a large area where there was no grass, which was between the grassy area and the door. On mornings where there was dew on the grass, the pups came in with muddy feet because they had to walk through the dirt to get to the door. We had afternoon shade provided by trees and our RV.
The sites on the End side are MUCH closer together and not as nice.
We had a tree that hung over the top of the rig, but the rooftop satellite dish was able to point to all 3 satellites.
This campground is only 6 miles from Livingston, but there isn't much in Livingston. There are 2 small grocery stores and Walmart. There is a Lowe's, but not a lot of other shopping options. There are a few good restaurants and a few fast food restaurants. The next closest shopping options are all 1+ hour away.
There is not an activity director at this park, so not many fun things to do. There are a few things like line dancing lessons, card games, etc. Their ice cream social is not till 6:00, so it is at an awkward time.
This park would be great for a week or 2, but we don't plan to spend lengthy time here again.

KE Bushman's Camp - Bullard, Texas

This is a nice RV park with paved streets & comfortably wide, long, level pull-thru sites. The parking pads are 2 concrete strips with grass between them. The grass between sites and in the parking pad is good Bermuda.
When we checked in, they did not ask about pets. A guy saw us setting up the xpen yard and did not say anything, but nobody actually saw the dogs.
At check in, they asked if we were going to use our jacks. Mike told her that we were, and she said they would bring us some boards. As we were getting to our site, 2 ladies came with two 7-8' long 2"x12" boards. They put them under the coach, across the grass, so the jacks would be on them instead of the grass. The car was still hooked up, and the tires were partly on the grass. I asked if the car was OK where it was, and they said it was.
As we were getting set up, a Mexican man drove up on golf cart. He got out and started pointing at the car and the grass. I thought he was telling us that we had to get the tires off the grass, but the few English words we understood, made us realize that he was telling us that we needed to back the car up about 12" because of water sprinkler heads. Of course, we had to disconnect the car to do that. When Mike moved the car, there were no sprinkler heads in sight. So, we aren't really sure what he was saying.
