Baton Rouge KOA - Denham Springs, Louisiana

 PFR ***
Campground **

This campground was fine for one night, but wouldn't want to spend much time here.  The sites were very close together, with very little space for even one xpen.  The concrete parking pad of our site was broken up pretty much all over.

Shady Grove Campground - Cumming, Georgia

 PFR ****
Campground ****

This is a nice County park on Lake Lanier.  It is a nice park, and most, or all sites have some sort of access to the lake.  Most of the sites, ours included, have a small gravel patio area right next to the concrete parking pad. There is a large gravel picnic area with a table and fire pit, on a lower level.  Access to that area is either steps or a slanted sidewalk.  Ours had the slanted sidewalk and was quite steep.  The sites are quite large.  The campground is well maintained.

This is a good site for us, about equal to site 74. The sewer side is actually better on this site, than 74, so would be better for a stay of more than just a few days.

Newberry / I-26 / Sumter NF KOA - Kinards, South Carolina

 PFR *****
Campground **

This is a very small park.  It is clean, and the management is super nice.  But, the sites are short, and barely had room for our car, parked sideways.  Also, it was difficult to get close enough to the propane tank to get propane.  Their hose was not long enough, so we had to turn around and approach it from the wrong direction.

The parking pad is gravel, with a fair amount of grass between sites.  The roads are rough gravel.

Site #31
$44.38/night
Length of stay - 1 night

Carolina Pines RV Resort - Conway, South Carolina

 PFR ****
Campground *****

This is a brand new park, only open a few years.  It is very "upscale".  We were at this park for the BRD rally.  Our sites were level, long, pull-thru sites, with a good amount of grassy area between sites.  There are a lot of outdoor activities, and the on-site restaurant has really great food!!

They have a 3 pet limit, which is our current number.  The rules stated no pet fencing allowed.  But, after seeing several people using them, we put 2 pens out, and they never told us to take them down.

Site # C-31
$47.14 - weekly rally rate
Length of stay - 7 nights

Beaver Lake RV Park - Quincy, Florida

 PFR *****
Campground **+

This is a very large, open grassy field, with some FHU RV sites.  It is behind a gas station.  The ground was pretty level, with nice grass.  There was only us and one other camper, 2 sites away, so we had plenty of room.  Could have used all of our xpens.  But, if there had been someone in the "buddy" site next door, (all sites seemed to be buddy sites) we would have been too close to even put out our awning.  However, I doubt they would ever be full enough to fill more than every other site. There were quite a few fire ant beds, so we had to be careful about where we put the xpens. But, it is right off I-10, so very convenient for an overnight stop.

Length of stay - 1 night
Site #4
$38 per night
Satellite - All 3 with rooftop (no trees in the field)

Silver Springs State Park Campground - Ocala, Florida

 PFR *****

Campground ****

This is a very nice campground.  The sites are very large and wide, with trees and distance separating each site.  The parking area and picnic area is covered with very small gravel.  It hurt Harvey's feet, but the rest of the dogs were fine with it.

There is a recycling bin for paper, glass, plastic, and aluminum at one of the bathhouse areas.

We were able to get all 3 satellites with the portable, but one was yellow because of the trees.  We were able to get about 16 over the air channels.

There are walking trails that end up over at the river.

We could have used all 7 xpens, but only put out 4 because we were only here for a few days.

Site #31
Length of stay - 4
$12 per night with FL senior resident discount
