Duckett Mill Campground COE - Gainesville, Georgia

PFR *****
Campground ****

This COE is nicer than Sawnee, but not quite as nice as Bald Ridge.  Our site has a nice, long, level concrete driveway and parking pad.  The yard is the same aggregate as the other COE parks on Lake Lanier.  This site's yard area is not quite as large as our favored site at Bald Ridge, but much larger than the site at Sawnee.

It took some doing, but Mike was able to find a place for the portable satellite to get all 3 satellites.  This site is on the water, but doesn't actually have any water access.  This site is pretty secluded.

Site #107
Length of stay - 2 weeks
$13/night
Satellite - None on rooftop, all 3 on portable (with some effort)
Water and Electric only
Water pressure - 60 lbs

Old Federal Campground COE - Flowery Branch, Georgia

PFR *****
Campground ***

This is a nice campground, with nice views from most sites, since most back up to, or are next to the water.  Nice blacktop parking pads and aggregate patios, with picnic tables, grill, and fire pit.  Our site was very level.  We put out 5 xpens, but could have used 6.

This site does not have afternoon shade, and the trees nearby prevented rooftop satellite.  But, it is an easy back-in.  Got all 3 satellites with portable dish.

Site #37
Length of stay - 2 nights
$12/night
Water pressure - 60 lbs
Satellite - All 3 with portable

Oconee Point Campground COE - Seneca, South Carolina

PFR *****
Campground ****

This is our 2nd time at this park.  Original review below.  This site is nice with room for 5 x-pens.  The ground is fairly loose dirt, but has nice afternoon shade.  The patio area is pretty secluded.

It took a while, but Mike did finally find a place where the portable satellite picked up all 3 satellites.

When we first got here, the breaker kept popping.  They came and replaced the breaker and it was fine after that.

This is a nice campground, and we really liked our site. We could have put out all of our xpens, but only put out a few for just the one night.  Level back-in, with the packed soil yard, right on the lake (Hartwell).  But the site next to this one (35) might be a better site because it had better afternoon shade.

Springfield Campground COE - Anderson, South Carolina

PFR *****
Campground ****

This is the 3rd time at this campground, and the 2nd time in this site (24).  The first time was in site #50 April 13, 2017.  Below is my review of this site from June 7, 2018.  It has changed a lot since then.  They have removed a LOT of trees, so it is not nearly as secluded, and pretty ugly because they have not removed all the stumps & roots yet.  But, the trees they left still prevent the rooftop dish from picking up any of the satellites. We think they may be adding more sites.  Current photos are below the original ones.

June 7, 2018
This is a nice campground.  Our site was a semi-circle pull-thru with a very large, secluded parking pad and yard.  We used all 7 xpens, with room to spare. The pad and yard area is packed soil. There is a public path that leads down to the swim beach, between our site and the one next to us.  There are trees that block our view, so people don't even see us when we are outside.  The other side is just wooded area.  To the rear of us is wooded area, with a path leading from our site to the swim beach.  One person came up our path and cut through our site to get to the bathhouse.  Mike was putting up rope lights as a barrier when he returned and had to duck under the rope.  But no one cut through after that.

River Plantation RV Resort - Sevierville, Tennessee

PFR *****
Campground ****

BRD Spring 2019 Rally

This is a really nice campground with large, level sites, and some trees.  The parking pads are gravel, with nice grass between, and a concrete patio & picnic table.  We had enough room for all 7 xpens, but the campground rules state that you can only have a 10' x 10' fence area.

We could not get any satellites on the rooftop, and it took a lot of work to finally find a place for the portable to receive all 3.  They also have cable.

Our site, as well as most sites in the campground, flooded when it rained.  Most of our yard area was a lake.

Site #196
$46.50/night ($38.50 rally rate)
Length of stay - 1 week
Satellite - None on rooftop, All 3 on portable, with a lot of work.
Cable
Water pressure - 60 lbs

Harrison Bay State Park - Harrison, Tennessee

PFR *****
Campground ***

This is a very family oriented park.  A lot of kids.  Our site was directly across from the baseball field.  The sites are very close together.  Our site actually had quite a bit of grassy area on the awning side, and we could have put at least 5 pens out, but since we were here just overnight, we only put out 2 pens.  The parking pad is level blacktop, with good grass on either side.

This is not a site we would want to spend more than a day or 2 in, but good for overnight.  We stayed at this park once before, but apparently it was before I started the blog.

Site #16
$25/night
Length of stay - 1 night
Water & Electric only
OTA - 30 channels, but not all watchable
Satellite - Could not get any satellites with the rooftop.  Did not put out portable.

Carroll's Sausage & Country Store - Ashburn, Georgia

PFR ****
Campground ***

This campground is operated by, and is next to, the country store, and is just a big grass lot with 20 RV sites.  No trees of landscape.  The parking pads are gravel pull-thrus, that are fairly close together.  We only put out 2 pens, but could have put out 4 or 5.  There was only one other site occupied when we arrived, although a 5th wheel pulled in right next to us later.

When we arrived, they told us to just pick a site.  They did not ask for our name, or any other information.  They gave us a $10 coupon good toward a purchase in their store.

The first site we tried, we could not get level.  The 2nd site, the electric tested ok at fist, but while we were setting up, the surge protector indicated low voltage.  So, we moved to a 3rd site that turned out to be fine.  It is right off of I-75, so there was a lot of road noise during the night.

Site #3
$30/night (and $10 coupon for store purchase)
Length of stay - 1 night
OTA 8 channels
Satellite - All 3
Water pressure - Didn't hook up.

Campground **

Stayed here for an overnight.  They have added 30 new sites since our last stay, so we thought the new sites would probably be better than the original ones.  The site we were in was very unlevel.  We had to put blocks under the jack and tires to get level.  Mike checked several surrounding sites with the 4' level and they were all the same.  Another camper started out on the row behind us and could not get level there, so they moved to the site next to us.  They had to use blocks also.  May not ever stay here again.

Site #36

$45/night (and a $10 coupon for in-store purchase)
