High View Park COE- Ennis, Texas

 PFR ****
Campground ***

This park is nice, with large, grassy sites.  The parking pad was long, but not quite level, so the front end of the coach was pretty high off the ground.  The original site we were booked into, site 14, was very low in the back, so would have taken a lot of boards to level.  The lake was at flood stage, and more rain predicted, so they moved us to site 10.

The road leading to the exit was VERY bad.  It had a LOT of very large, deep pot holes.

Site #10
$8/night
Length of stay - 1 night
Water & Electric only
Satellite - Couldn't get any satellites, probably due to heavy cloud cover.
OTA - 50+ good channels

Pace Bend Park (Travis County Park) - Spicewood, Texas

 PFR ***
Campground **

We stayed in this park to attend Nick's wedding.

This is a small County park that has only 20 sites.  The sites are a comfortable distance apart, but not huge.  The parking pads are concrete, with small rock & grass on the side yard.  We had enough room for 5 xpens.

The bad think about this site is that the front is a little low, so the front end of the coach was high up off the ground.  Then the parking pad was several inches above the ground level.  So, it was quite a climb to get up the steps, even with our portable step on it's highest setting.

Site #1
$38.50/night, including day passes
Length of stay - 4 nights
Water and Electric only
Satellite - All 3 with rooftop

Houston East RV Resort - Baytown, Texas

 PFR **
Campground ****

This is a very nice campground, with nice wide sites, and even some covered sites.  The grass between sites is very lush and green.  But, they do not allow pet fencing.  We didn't see a pet limit listed in the rules, and they didn't ask how many we had.

Site # E-1
Length of stay - 1 night
$49.00/night

Baton Rouge KOA - Denham Springs, Louisiana

 PFR ***
Campground **

This campground was fine for one night, but wouldn't want to spend much time here.  The sites were very close together, with very little space for even one xpen.  The concrete parking pad of our site was broken up pretty much all over.

Site #43
$58.47/night w/discount and tax
Length of stay - 1 night

Shady Grove Campground - Cumming, Georgia

 PFR ****
Campground ****

This is a nice County park on Lake Lanier.  It is a nice park, and most, or all sites have some sort of access to the lake.  Most of the sites, ours included, have a small gravel patio area right next to the concrete parking pad. There is a large gravel picnic area with a table and fire pit, on a lower level.  Access to that area is either steps or a slanted sidewalk.  Ours had the slanted sidewalk and was quite steep.  The sites are quite large.  The campground is well maintained.

This is a good site for us, about equal to site 74. The sewer side is actually better on this site, than 74, so would be better for a stay of more than just a few days.
