I keep this blog to keep track of campgrounds we have stayed in, for our own future reference. Prior to 7/15/22, at the top of each entry is PFR. That was my Pet Friendliness Rating, of one to five *. Five being best. Now I only rate the campsite. We used to travel with 10 small dogs, but sadly, we have lost many of our elderly dogs, and are now down to just 1. So, the multiple dog friendliness is no longer important to us. Prior to 11/1/19, we traveled with 6 - 12 dogs.

Hazelton Recreation Area COE - Hazelton, North Dakota
Campground ***
This is a nice campground, but we can't stay here for more than just a few days because there is NO bathhouse and NO dump station! There are 3 potable water spigots to fill the fresh water tank, and sites are electric only.
Our site was close enough to one of the water spigots that we were able to stretch our fresh water hoses over to it after we got parked.
The parking pads are gravel and a little higher than the grassy area. There are a few trees. We would have had room to put out all 7 of our xpens, but there were chipmunk holes in part of our yard that we had to avoid.
This campground is 35 miles from ANY civilization, (Bismarck) but it is a scenic drive.

Left Tailrace Campground COE - Fort Thompson, South Dakota
Campground ****
This is a nice park with wide grassy sites. There is a concrete pad with a picnic table. We had plenty of room to put out all 7 xpens, with room to spare. If not for the bathhouse, we would have had a beautiful view of the river and rolling hills of the opposite bank.
The sites on the side of the park we are on have afternoon shade, but the sites on the other side of the park have sun on the awning side in the afternoon.
This is an electric only park. There is a good fresh water fill hose at the dump station. The bathhouse is somewhat dated, but good. Our site had a small area of morning shade and the motorhome and awning provided nice afternoon shade. There were quite a few small ant beds in the grassy area. They did not bite, but were annoying.
Sites 1, 4, 9 & 26 have water spigots.
Site #6 (Electric only)

Length of stay 11 nights

Cottonwood Campground COE - Yankton, South Dakota
PFR *****
Campground ****
This is a really nice shady campground, with wide sites. But, it is electricity only. There are 3 really nice fresh water hoses at the entrance to fill the fresh water tank. The parking pad is asphalt, with a large pea-gravel patio and grassy area. We set out all 7 xpens. Our site had a tree on the passenger side that prevented our awning from going out even a little. It was only about 1' from the slide. But, we had great afternoon shade. Jim & Diane were in site 51. They had no shade at all.
There are a lot of good places to ride bicycles.
We stayed here again 8/4 - 8/15/19. We got all 3 satellites with the rooftop. Our site this time, 47, is a pull-thru and a very nice site. The only downside is that Harvey and a few others decided that the tiny rocks in the patio yard were something to chew on and eat.
We stayed here again 8/14 - 8/21/22 in site 51. Our rooftop satellite dish isn't working, but got all 3 with portable. But, no shade at all, and could not keep awning out because of wind. Curved pull-thru. Nice view though.

Lewis and Clark State Park - Onawa, Iowa
Campground ****
This is a nice park. Sites are FHU. The sites weren't as large as most of the COE's we stay at, but larger than a lot of private campgrounds. The parking pad was asphalt, with a gravel patio area, and grass on the rest of the space. We put out 5 pens, but could have put out 7 if we had been staying longer.
Check-out for this park was not till 3:00. We arrived just after noon and had to wait until 2:30 for the previous occupants to leave.
Site #108
Length of stay - 1 night
$23/night with FHU
OTA - Got several, but I don't remember how many

AOK Campground & RV Park - St Joseph, Missouri
Campground **
The owners were real nice, but the first site they gave us (16) was a pull thru that had a railroad tie & an incline on the awning side. It was so narrow that even parked as far over to the left as we could, there would not have been ANY room to walk on that side after the slides were out. Not to mention zero room for xpens! I told them we needed room for our dog pens & asked if they had another site. They suggested another site that had maybe 2' more space, that we could have made work. Then they said they could move the people they had scheduled for site 20, let us have that one. It had a really nice wide space on the awning side!
While our site turned out to work very well for us, the campground seemed very "mobile parkish". The neighbor next door used pallets to make a "deck" at his door. The roads were also VERY dusty gravel.
When we were leaving the campground, the road made the MH go in an awkward angle and caused the right front tire to come in contact with the body and broke a piece of the fiberglass off of the upper part of the wheel well.

OTA - Don't remember how many channels, but had enough watchable channels that we didn't hook up the satellite.

They did not ask about pets when I made the reservations, or during check in. Our site was adequately wide, but just barely long enough for our rig and the car, parked sideways. We put out 5 xpens.

Kan-Do Kampground - Montgomery City, Missouri
Campground **
This was a fine campground for an overnight stay, but I wouldn't want to stay there any longer. Our pull-thru site was VERY narrow! Our awning hung over the pedestal of the site next to us. Luckily, there was nobody there. The water hookups are shared by 2 sites. We could only put out 3 xpens.
They didn't ask about pets when I called for the reservation. When we checked in, she asked if we had pets. I said Yes, and Mike said Dog. She was under the impression that we only had one dog, and I wasn't quite sure how to let her know we had more than that. But, from the conversation about her dogs, I got the feeling that she would have been fine with our pups.
Site #31 (She gave us #30 first, but it had a railroad tie between the parking pad and grass.
