Bear Creek Lake Park - Lakewood, Colorado

PFR **
Campground ***

This is a nice city run park, with beautiful views and large level sites.  The yard and parking pads are dirt with some small gravel.  The dirt was loose and if the dogs had not already been dirty from our site at Boyd Lake, they would have gotten dirty here.  But, the main reason I am giving 2 stars, is that they have a 2 dog limit.

There were a LOT of tent campers at this campground.

One thing that was good about this place was that they have recycling bins for glass, plastic, aluminum, cardboard, and paper.

Site #37
Length of stay - 5 nights
$25/night
Satellite - All 3 rooftop
Electric only.  Water spigot was nearby.

McGreer Camper Park - Big Springs, Nebraska

PFR ****
Campground ***

This is a VERY small privately owned campground, just off I-80, but in a very rural area.  It has 4 long pull-thru sites that look like they are used fairly frequently.  The sites are all grass, so the "parking pad" is where the grass is worn down. There are also 5 shorter pull-thru sites that don't look like they have been used at all.  Our site was very level.  The ground is covered with a mixture of grass and weeds, but not thickly covered.

The base rate for the FHU site is $35.  But, they add $3 for Class A motorhomes, $2 for 50amp, $2 if you want to use their bathroom or shower, and $2 early check-in fee.  So, with tax, it would have been over $43.  Definitely would not have been worth the price.  But, they accept Passport America, so the total was $24.50 before tax.

There are some small trees, but none that provide shade, or interfere with satellite reception.

Site #10
$35/night ($24.50 with PA and additional fees.
Length of stay - 1 night
Satellite - All 3 satellites
Water pressure - 30 lbs

Grand Island KOA Journey - Doniphan, Nebraska

PFR ***
Campground ***

The campground is nice, has level sites, and has no pet limit, but the sites are VERY close together!  The gravel parking pad is not much wider than the RV, and the strip of grass between sites is only about 4' wide.  So, not much room for x-pens.

New neighbors came in on both sides, 5th wheels with slides.  Our pedestal was so close to the parking pad of the site next to us that they were not able to open their slide all the way.  They stopped it about 3" from it.  The neighbor on our passenger side was actually a KOA rig, covered with KOA advertising.

Site #79
$42/night with GS discount
Length of stay - 3 nights
Satellite - All 3 with rooftop

Weston Bend State Park Campground - Weston, Missouri

PFR **
Campground ***

This park is ok for an overnight stop, but I wouldn't want to spend much more time here, and it is as expensive as a nice campground.  They have a 2 dog limit, so we had to just put 2 out at a time.  Since we were only one night, we just put out 2 pens and didn't bother with the step lattice.  We could have put out a few more pens, but the site is fairly small compared to most.

This park does not have water or sewer at the sites.  Electric only.  There is a water spigot right across from this site, and another one a little ways down the way before our site.

Wooded, but was able to get satellite with rooftop.

Site #32
Length of stay - one night
$32/night (Expensive for what it is)
OTA - 35 channels
Satellite - Got all 3 satellites with rooftop.

Escapees Turkey Creek RV Village - Hollister, Missouri

PFR *****
Campground ****

This is a great park.  Not quite as large as Sumter Oaks.  Some sites have shade, some don't.  But, they all seem to have good grass, and are nice sized.  We used 6 pens.  The roads and parking pads are gravel/dirt.  We did have to put blocks under the front tires.

This park is right on Turkey Creek, and close to Branson.

Site #H8
$120/week, and $20/night, plus $3/night for 50amp
Length of stay - 2 1/2 weeks
Satellite - Could not get signal on rooftop, and took several tries to get all 3 on portable.
OTA - Just a few
Water pressure - 40 lbs

Wildwood RV Park - Dexter, Missouri

PFR ***
Campground **

This RV park is a gravel parking lot with hook-ups.  It is behind a storage facility and some other businesses.  It has 22 sites, all pull-thrus.  There are quite a few sites with full-time residents in them.  But, it is clean and well maintained.  Not bad for an overnight stay, but wouldn't want to spend more than 1 night here.  We only put out 2 pens since we were here just one night, but could have put out a couple more.

The park office is inside the hearing aid business.

Site #13
$30/night
Length of stay - 1 night
Water pressure - 60 lbs
Satellite - All 3 satellites
OTA - 4 channels

7 Points Campground - COE - Hermitage, Tennessee (Nashville)

PFR *****
Campground ****+

This is a beautiful campground!  Our site was directly across from the boat ramp parking lot, which actually gave us a really great view out our front windshield.

The interior roads look to be newly blacktopped, but they are a tad narrow, which made getting in and out of our site a little tricky, but not bad.  The parking pad was level concrete, and there was a long driveway to park the car.  The patio area was raised about 6" from the parking pad, with a railroad tie.  The patio was really large, with a picnic table, BBQ grill, and fire pit.  We only put out 5 pens, but could have put out all 7, and had room for more.  There was also a lot of space between sites and behind ours.

There were too many trees to use the satellite, and didn't even try to set up the portable because we got 40 over the air channels.  We got all the local channels, and many of our preferred channels.

We were only at this park for 2 nights, but would love to come back for a longer stay!

Site #40
Length of stay - 2 nights
$11/night with senior card
