Our site was REALLY tight to get into, and we could only put our awning out a few feet. It was the only site they had available when we called in November. But, it is large enough to put out all of our xpens and we actually ordered another one to make it bigger. OTA is VERY limited, with only 3 channels most of the time, but there is ABC and Grit. Cell phone is mostly non-existent, but can get a signal occasionally. Our mifi gets a pretty good signal though.
Even though there are some negative points, there are enough positives that we have booked a different site (41) for next winter, Feb, Mar, & Apr. They LOVE our dogs, and the people are very nice. We won't have the nice shade we have in this one, but we will be able to use our satellite dish.
Site #44
Length of stay - 2 months 2/1 - 3/31/17
$340/month plus electric
Water pressure 40#
I keep this blog to keep track of campgrounds we have stayed in, for our own future reference. Prior to 7/15/22, at the top of each entry is PFR. That was my Pet Friendliness Rating, of one to five *. Five being best. Now I only rate the campsite. We used to travel with 10 small dogs, but sadly, we have lost many of our elderly dogs, and are now down to just 1. So, the multiple dog friendliness is no longer important to us. Prior to 11/1/19, we traveled with 6 - 12 dogs.

We are here for the FMCA and DOAI rallies.
Our site is great, with plenty of room for all xpens, with a combination of grass and a concrete patio, and a magnolia tree.
Since we won the prize for the most pets last year, and I even showed photos of all of our dogs to employees, and they were OK with us having them, we decided to just let everyone out together this time. On the 2nd day we were here, someone from the office called Mike's cell phone to tell us that they have a 4 dog limit. Mike told them that we had won the most dog prize last year, but they didn't care. They told us that the manager said to tell us that we could only put 4 out at a time.

Length of stay - 2 weeks
Water pressure - 70 lbs

This is a nice park but, at least the section we are in, seems to be more suited to trailers. There is only 1 other motorhome, and no 5th wheels. Our site was a bitch to get into. It was sloped down from the road, then leveled off at the parking pad. We had to take the tow bar off to keep it from hitting. It does look like site 37 might be a good site for us if we were to come back.
The yard area is crushed gravel and of good size to use all of our xpens. When Mike made the online reservations, he put 11 in the section about pets. When we checked in, they asked if we really had 11 dogs, and laughed when we said yes.
The other campers don't seem to understand anything about campground etiquette, and keep trespassing on the back of our site to get to the water.
Site #18
$12
No sewer
Length of stay - 3 nights

Anderson/Lake Hartwell KOA - Anderson, South Carolina

This is a fine campground. The only 50amp sites they had/have are their deluxe "patio" sites, that have a wooden deck, which takes up valuable xpen area. This campground is over priced for what it is. The original price for this site was $56.00. The KOA discount was $5.60. We lucked out and our KOA card was still valid and we had some points accumulated. Enough to get us a $25.00 discount.
We did not have a reservation. During check-in they asked if we had pets. Mike said "Yes", and they just pointed out the doggie run. They did not ask how many.
Length of stay - 1 night
Site # 28
$30.94 after discounts

Campground **+
This is campground is nice, but not many sites that we will fit in. The site we are in was tight to get into, since it "dog legged" to the right, and there were a couple of trees we had to avoid. The site is a crushed gravel and blacktop. This site does have a nice large dog yard, but our next door neighbor is pretty close, since we share an entry drive. We do have a view of the lake.
Only 3 ota TV channels, all PBS. No cell phone service, and weak internet.
Since we are here for 2 weeks, we are using the bath house. It is not close enough to walk to, so we have to drive to get there.
We have reservations at site #26 on our return trip. It looks like a really nice, wide site.
Site #1
Length of stay - 2 weeks
$14/night, with senior discount
Site #26 is really nice. Very long, wide, level, and easy to back into. It is right next to the lake, with a wooden step down to the shore level. It is also pretty secluded. This site is a lot nicer than site 1. But, we still only get 3 PBS channels most of the time, but could get 3 other channels, including MEtv and one network station.
